Armed men rob $4M from Old Harbour credit union, cameras at location not functioning

The Den understands that four men posing as customers robbed approximately $4 million from the People’s Co-operative Credit Union on Thursday (November 26) in Old Harbour, St Catherine.

Reports are that at around 1:45 p.m. the men entered the financial institution located at 49 Marlie Gardens pulling out handguns and ordering the individuals inside the institution, which at the time included customers and staff, to lay on the floor.

The men then took a total of $4,259,481.00 from the vault.

The Den further understands that the men also used a firearm to hit a female security guard attached to a popular security company in her face and disarmed her of her service Smith and Wesson .38 revolver.

The men then made their way through the main entrance door and escaped.

The manager and five other employees along with two customers and two security guards assigned to the location were present at the time the incident occurred.

It is further understood that none of the cameras at the location were working.
