A 19-year-old from the Arnett Gardens community was charged in connection with the shooting death of a man in his community which happened in August 2019.
19-year-old Nashaun Smith otherwise called ‘Shortman’ has been charged with murder.
Reports are that on August 3, 2019, about 6:00 p.m., 25-year-old Donavan Barrett otherwise called ‘Chiney Man’ was walking along the roadway when he was approached by Smith who opened gunfire hitting him in the head.
Barrett later died at hospital.
Smith was apprehended on July 4, 2020, and subsequently charged with murder after he was pointed out in an identification parade.
His court date is being finalised.
