Baby among Jamaica’s 102 new COVID-19 cases

An 8-month-old baby is among the island’s latest COVID-19 cases, revealed the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW) late Monday (August 31).

According to the MOHW, Jamaica recorded 102 positive cases of coronavirus over the last 24-hours bringing the island’s tally to 2,459.

The new cases have been recorded against individuals ranging in age from eight months to 87 years.

Of the new cases the majority, 98 are under investigation as to how the individuals contracted the virus, while four have been confirmed as contacts of positive cases.

There are now 1,476 active cases being monitored, including 14 moderately ill patients and six who are critically ill.
