Early morning confrontation with cops leaves two dead in Delacree Pen

Two men were shot and killed during a confrontation with police in Delacree Pen in St Andrew early Wednesday morning (December 2).

Reports from the police are that the incident occurred at around 4:17 a.m. on  St. Joseph’s Road.

Police said  a firearm was seized in the incident. The men have not yet been identified.

This is the second incident in less than a week in which men were killed in confrontations with the police.

On Saturday (November 28) two men were fatally shot during a confrontation with the police on King Street, in St. Catherine.

The deceased have been identified as 25-year-old Dennis Francis, otherwise called ‘Steve’, of Beacon Avenue, St. Catherine and 25-year-old Cornel McKenzie of Ewarton district also in St. Catherine.

Both matters were reported to the Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau (IPROB) as well as the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM).
