Female cop rushed to hospital following crash on Mandela Highway

Information reaching The Den is that at least four cops were involved in a collision on the Mandela Highway nearing a section of the roadway which leads to the North-South toll.

It is understood that at around 5:30 p.m. the collision occurred involving a police service vehicle, it is reported that the driver, a female constable, lost control of the vehicle, which overturned several times.

Detective Senior Sergeant Blackwood was said to be driving the vehicle at the time of the collision.

It is understood that all four cops were rushed to hospital including Blackwood who was described by a motorist as in “terrible condition”.

The motorist told The Den that the female constable had multiple broken bones and was bleeding heavily and based her condition he was not optimistic about her chances of survival.
