Gordon Town taxi driver charged with murder of colleague following dispute

A 24-year-old taxi operator has been charged with murder following the death of a fellow driver.

Reports from the Half-Way-Tree Police are that about 4:00 p.m. on June 21, two taxi operators became embroiled in a dispute.

During the dispute, it is alleged that 24-year-old Romario Mighten, a taxi operator of Gordon Town, St. Andrew used an object to stab the other taxi operator in his neck.

The police were summoned and the operator who received the stab wounds, 53-year-old Delroy Sinclair, a taxi operator of Maryland district, was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Following a ruling from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Mighten was charged with murder.

His court date is being finalized.
