JDF soldier arrested after firing shots at wife over disturbing text messages

A Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) soldier was taken into police custody after he fired two shots at his wife after finding disturbing text messages in her mobile phone, while she was asleep.

Reports reaching The Den are that on Saturday (October 17) the 34-year-old soldier and his 29-year-old wife were at their St Catherine home in bed together.

Upon falling asleep, the wife of the soldier said she was awaken by two slaps to the face.

An argument developed between the two as a result of videos and messages seen in the wife’s phone.

The soldier then fired two shots with his licence firearm, said to be a Walther 9mm pistol at his wife, who works as a financial advisor.

The police was summoned and on arrival  both complainant and suspect were brought to the police station and the soldier’s  firearm seized for a ballistics examination, after which he was placed into police custody.
