Jamaica recorded a 3% decline in murders between January 1 and June 27, 2020.
Statistics from the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) revealed that 653 people were killed down from 673 over the same period in 2019.
Despite the marginal decline, 8 of 19 police divisions recorded an increase in violent crimes.
The police divisions with the highest rise in murders were West Kingston, Kingston Central, and St. Catherine.
