Traffic chaos after policeman shot in Half Way Tree

A police constable and one other person were shot on Saturday (November 14) in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew.

The Den understands that the incident which took place at around 3:20 p.m. when the constable was attempting to foil a robbery, in the vicinity of the transport centre.

The gunmen were said to have fired the shots as the attempted to make their getaway.

Both the cop and the civilian were rushed to hospital.

The police communications unit said that while they were aware of the incident details were limited.

The incident resulted in massive traffic delays around the city.

The Den news team visited the site at around 6:00 p.m. and the area was still cordon off, with traffic extending all the way to Lyndhurst road.
