Two doctors at KPH test positive for COVID-19

Two doctors at the Kingston Public Hospital(KPH) have tested positive for the coronavirus.

The Minister of Health and Wellness Christopher Tufton confirmed the news in a radio interview a short while ago noting that contact tracing was already underway.

“It is not unusual, it has happened in other hospitals before and, it is something that we plan for but it does create some downtime, some anxieties for obvious reasons; and what the team is doing is trying to address and restore normality as quickly as possible,” said Tufton.

Following the test results, KPH has limited some services and is only accepting emergency patients.

Tufton noted that disruptions in the service were as a result of the necessary sanitation exercise among other measures.

Both doctors are in isolation.
