Video: Driver injured by gunmen near Papine while transporting call centre staff

A driver was shot and injured on Thursday night (August 27) after dropping off Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS) employees in a community just outside of Papine, Kingston 7.

Reports reaching The Den are that the driver was travelling along the Halls Delight main road in the vicinity of a bus stop and a church when a man emerged from the bushes with a rifle.

The driver, identified as 25-year-old Chomaine Thomas, slowed down, then another man wearing a face mask armed with a shotgun stepped out in the roadway to the left of the vehicle.

Upon seeing this Thomas sped off, when the man holding the rifle fired into his vehicle causing damages.

Thomas who received injuries to his right leg was treated at the UWI Hospital and later released.
