Wet weather to continue until Friday – Met Service

The Meteorological Service of Jamaica (Met Service) has said that the wet weather conditions the island is currently experiencing will last until Friday (August 21).

According to the Met Service, the rainy conditions are as a result of newly formed Tropical Depression #14, located just southwest of Jamaica.

TD14 is moving to the west but showers will continue into Friday.

As a result of TD14 tropical storm watches have been issued for sections of Honduras.

The depression is moving toward the west near 21 mph (33 km/h), and a westward motion is expected to continue through this evening.

A turn toward the west-northwest and northwest with a decrease in forward speed is forecast tonight and Friday, with a general northwest motion continuing through at least Sunday.

There are currently two systems impacting weather in the region.
