Rowley declares victory for PNM following T&T elections

Dr. Keith Rowley is expected to lead the twin island republic of Trinidad and Tobago for a second term following what is understood to be a victory at the polls on Monday (August 11).

While the island’s Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) has not yet made an official announcement following the closure of the polls, Rowley’s People’s National Movement (PNM) is said to have secured twenty two seats to the United National Congress’ 19 seats.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic a small gathering of supporters celebrated at Balisier House, where Rowley used the occasion to thank supporters along with his wife.

He also thanked his supporters for adhering to social distancing measures.

Rowley told supporters that under his leadership he would do his best to lead the country out of the perilous times it was now in due to the pandemic.
