Tommy Lee back in police custody, this time for illegal gun

After being released from police custody earlier this year on August 17,  dancehall entertainer Tommy Lee is again behind bars.

Sparta, whose real name is Leroy Russell, was taken into police custody on Monday  (December 14) after an illegal 9 mm pistol was found in his possession along with ammunition.

Reports are that a special police team made the find while conducting patrols in the corporate area, where Sparta and six others were taken into custody, after being searched on Holborn Road.

The entertainer’s previous stint behind bars lasted 41 days, after he was taken into custody on July 7 after being named a person of interest in his parish.

A State of Emergency (SOE) in effect at the time meant that citizens could be detained for up to 90 days without being charged.
