4 new COVID-19 deaths, Jamaica’s case count now at 4,571

    Jamaica’s case count for COVID-19 stands at 4,571, with the island having recorded four additional COVID-19 deaths.

    In the latest update from the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW) on Friday (September 18) 197 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours.

    In addition the island’s death toll has reached 55.

    The latest casualties of the virus are an 80-year-old man from Kingston and St Andrew, an 81-year-old woman also from Kingston and St Andrew, an 83-year-old woman with a St Mary address, and a 67-year-old woman from Clarendon.

    Of the newly confirmed cases there were 88 males and 107 females with ages ranging from two and a half months to 86 years. The genders of two of the cases are still under investigation.

    To date the country has 3,169 active cases of the virus.
