Body of 75-year-old farmer washes up at the Riverton City Dump

The body of a 75-year-old farmer believed to have been swept away by water in the Sandy Gully a day earlier has been found.

The body of the elder was found on Friday (October 1) after it washed up at the Riverton City dump.

Reports are that at about 7:40 a.m., on Thursday (September 30) Beryl Bryant was feeding her goats along the edge of the gully when she fell in.

According to the police, several attempts were made on Thursday to locate the body.

However, the police say they were unsuccessful due to heavy rain and high water volume.
