Bunting to miss debates after coming into contact with positive COVID-19 case

People’s National Party candidate for Central Manchester (PNP) Peter Bunting will not be participating in the upcoming debates after he came into contact with a positive COVID-19 case.

According to a release sent out by the PNP, Mayor of Mandeville Donovan Mitchell recently tested positive for COVID-19 and listed Bunting as a contact.

“The Mayor has been self-quarantined since Nomination Day and did not participate in the Nomination Day march or other public activities,” said the party in its release.

Mitchell, however, is said to have attended the signing of the nomination form at the EOJ Centre.

The Mayor was advised today of his positive test and the Ministry of Health and Wellness commenced the contact tracing process.

Among the Mayor’s contacts is Peter Bunting.

Bunting, who does not currently have any symptoms, was tested this afternoon and will self-quarantine while awaiting the result.

As a result of self-quarantine, Bunting will not participate in the national debate scheduled for tomorrow, nor any other campaign activity until he receives his results.
