Clarendon man faces slew of sex-related charges following arrest

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) in a release on Saturday (September 11) says that a 35-year-old Clarendon man who was implicated in a series of sexual offences was arrested and charged.

The arrest was made by detectives assigned to the Clarendon Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) following an investigation into the suspect.

According to CISOCA, the accused is Dwayne Campbell, a labourer of Bucknor, May Pen Clarendon.

Campbell was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Four counts of Rape
  • Five counts of Abduction of Child under 16
  • Four counts of Grevious Sexual Assault
  • Two counts of knowingly produced Child Pornography
  •  Two counts of Possession of Child Pornography
  • Two counts of Possession of Child Pornography with intent

In addition, CISCOCA detectives say that Campbell used social media platforms to lure children between the ages of ten and fifteen years old to his home with the intent to force them to perform sex acts, which he would record most times.

The investigation centre is urging parents and guardians to monitor the social media use of children under their care.

Several of Campbell’s alleged victims were also reported missing in the parish.

The Clarendon police are appealing to the parents and guardians whose female children went missing and may have been victims of similar circumstances to contact them.
