Clarke-Cooper uses Twitter to share that her mom lost her battle with COVID-19

Veteran broadcaster Simone Clarke Cooper took to Twitter on Wednesday (March 31) to share with her following that her mother had lost her battle with COVID-19.

“Thy Will Be Done, On Earth, As It Is In Heaven.’ While I may not understand, I must accept. Thank you for the collective, consistent thoughts, prayers, words of encouragement. Mom is no longer with us in body. She is forever with us in spirit, ” said Clarke-Cooper in a tweet.

“I will love you forever, Ma,” she added.

Clarke Cooper earlier this month shared with her following that her mother had contracted the deadly COVID-19 virus, noting that she was asking for prayers.

“Hi there. I often speak about the power of positive thought, and of prayer. So I’m asking you for a bit – well, a lot – of both. My Mom is in hospital because Covid has come her way. So please, if you’re a praying or positive person,” said Clarke Cooper in a tweet” she said in a tweet on March 17.

“Mom’s still in hospital & we continue to pray that she’ll be well & home soon. Hard to get information bc the system is under so much pressure. Please continue to pray for her, & all who are in hospital, & especially for our doctors & nurses,” she later added.

During an episode of her new show SIM Soul Sessions, Clarke-Cooper interviewed her fellow media colleague Giovanni Dennis who had recently recovered from the virus, noting that she hoped her mother who was hospitalized, would have a similar outcome.

However, a late evening tweet by Clarke Cooper seemed indicative of an issue, as she asked for an ICU nurse to make contact with her.

“Is there any ICU nurse on my timeline who works in a freelance/private capacity? I need your help. Please,” tweeted Clarke Cooper late Tuesday.

Following the sad news of her mother’s passing several of her colleagues have taken to social media to share good will messages, encouraging her to be strong during the sad time.

“Oh Simone & @Clarke876 my heart is with you & your dad & the family. You remain in my thoughts & prayers. Words fail. Hugs, ” said former TVJ colleague Karen Madden on Twitter.

“Condolences Sim. Hugs,” added TVJ news anchor Vashan Brown.

Clarke-Cooper used the occasion to thank her following along with her colleagues for their message noting that she is greatful to have her family which includes her baby brother and dad to support her at this time.
