A police officer was shot and killed in Naggo Town, Whithorne late Wednesday (November 17).
The deceased, who has been identified as 25-year-old Devaughn Brown, had only recently graduated from the police academy.
Reports are that at around 11:28 p.m. Brown was heading to a nearby shop, when residents heard explosions.
Brown was discovered with gunshot wounds, he was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.
A State of Emergency [SOE] was recently imposed in the parish.
