Cops issue plea for St James mom to turn herself in following stabbing incident

The search is on for a St James woman, who is suspected to have played a role in an ongoing investigation in which a man was stabbed at his workplace.

Police have issued a plea for the mother of 19-year-old Quwayne Lewis to turn herself in to the Barrett Town Police Station immediately.

The plea comes as the 19-year-old was arrested and charged following a stabbing incident in his community on Thursday, September 10.

Reports from the Barrett Town Police are that at about 10:30 a.m., Lewis and his mother allegedly pounced upon the complainant at his workplace and used knives to stab him several times all over his body.

The complainant managed to escape and residents assisted him to the hospital.

Lewis, otherwise called ‘Ice’, of Wagon Wheel, Lilliput in St. James was arrested when he turned up at the police station later the same day to make a report.

He was subsequently charged on Sunday, September 13 and is scheduled to appear before the St. James Parish Court at a later date.

Anyone knowing Lewis’ mother’s whereabouts is being asked to contact the Barrett Town Police
