David and Subs owner dies from COVID-19 complications

The owner and operator of David and Subs, David Wint, passed away on Sunday (August 22)from COVID-19 complications.

Reports are that 46-year-old Wint had fallen ill three weeks earlier and later died at hospital in Montego Bay.

A source close to Wint’s family told The Den that David did not have any underlying conditions but occasionally smoked cigarettes.

Wint’s passing comes as a shock to many on the western-end of the island who knew the popular business man well.

He’s being remembered as a kind-hearted man and dedicated father.

According to a close friend of Wint’s, David and Subs, a men’s apparel store, which has been in operation for well over a decade was his “pride and joy”.

Data released from the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW), continues to show western parishes exhibiting a greater level of spread.

MOHW data shows that the virus is spreading two to three times quicker in Hanover and Westmoreland than in the most populous parish of Kingston and St Andrew
