Family of businessman shot near KFC in New Kingston seeking blood donations

The family of a businessman who was shot outside of a KFC restaurant on Saturday (September 19) are seeking blood donations for their loved one.

Reports reaching The Den are that at about 11:40 a.m. Stephen Mayne, affectionately called “Chango” went in to the restaurant to make a purchase.

Upon his return, Mayne was sitting in the driver’s seat when two men, one armed with a firearm walked up to the vehicle and opened the driver’s door.

All three men were involved in a tussle, when the armed man opened gunfire hitting Mayne.

Mayne’s attackers escape from the locationin a 2013 black Toyota Axio motor car with the plate number 3343JC, which was parked in the vicinity of Sagicor along Dominica Drive.

The businessman was rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital.

His family has since come out to seek assistance, noting that Mayne is in need of a blood transfusion and have encouraged members of the public to make blood donations to the Chest Hospital on Slipe Road.
