A St Ann farmer is set to answer to multiple charges stemming from an incident in which he and his brother allegedly attacked two individuals in the community of Golden Grove in the parish on Saturday (August 10).
He has been identified as 31-year-old Dianegilo Diedrick, otherwise called ‘Toto’, a farmer of Broad Street in the Golden Grove community.
Reports from the St. Ann’s Bay Police are that two complainants were walking in the community at about 2:30 a.m. when they were approached by Diedrick and his brother.
Diedrick was carrying a machete and his brother was armed with a handgun.
Diedrick’s brother proceeded to fire gunshots in the complainants direction, who defended themselves by throwing bottles and stones at the brothers.
The brothers fled into bushes and started to intimidate the individuals.
A report of this incident was made to the police and Diedrick was later arrested.
He has been charged on Monday (August 19) with shooting with intent, possession of prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony following an incident.
