Farmworker enroute to Canada caught with cocaine in food items

A farmworker who was headed to Canada was nabbed with cocaine at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston on Wednesday (March 3).

Ochena Demetri was charged for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act

According to reports from the Narcotics Police, Demetri was checking in for his flight to Toronto, Canada, when his luggage was checked and cocaine was found hidden in food items.

The estimated weight of the drug is 11 pounds, with an estimated street value of CAD $220,000.00.

Demetri, a farmworker of Gimme-Me-Bit, Clarendon was charged with Possession of Cocaine, Dealing in Cocaine, Taking Steps Preparatory to Export Cocaine and Conspiracy to Export Cocaine.
