Flare up of violence leaves two dead, curfew imposed in sections of Cassava Piece

At least two persons have been gunned down along Mannings  Hill road over the past 48 hours in what appears to be a flare up of violence in the community.

Beginning on Thursday (August 1) morning,  a taxi man lost his life in a gun attack  followed by a 29-year-old on Friday night.

One man is also in hospital nursing gunshot wounds following the Friday night incident.

On Saturday (August 3) the security forces announced that a 48-hour curfew had been imposed in sections of the Cassava Piece community.

During the hours of the curfew, all persons within its boundaries are required to remain within their premises, unless otherwise authorized by the ground commander.

Included in the curfew are sections of Mannings Hill road, Glen Dale Drive and Glen Avenue.

The  curfew began at 6:00 p.m. and will remain in effect until 6:00 p.m. on Monday (August 5.)

The areas of the curfew are as follows:

From the intersection of Mannings Hill Road with imaginary line which runs to Grosvenor Terrace about 1000 meters.

From the intersection of Mannings Hill Road and Clifton Boulevard onto Cassava Piece Road to the intersection of Constant Spring Road about 1000 meters

From the intersection of Grosvenor Terrace onto Constant Spring Road to the intersection  of Cassava Piece Road about 1000 meters

From the intersection of Clifton Boulevard onto Mannings Hill Road to the intersection of  Mannings Hill Road and Grosvenor Terrace about 1000 meters
