Former Prime Minister Portia Simpson-Miller hospitalised for non-emergency care

The People’s National Party (PNP) in a release on Friday (April 7) shared that former Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller has been hospitalized.

According to the party, the now 77-year-old Simpson-Miller was receiving non-emergency care.

“Mrs. Simpson Miller is doing well and is being supported by a capable medical team and her loved ones,” read the release from the party.

“On behalf of her family, the PNP expresses sincere gratitude for your prayers and well wishes, as we pray for good health and a speedy recovery for our dear Sister P, ” added the party in the release.

Simpson-Miller served as Prime Minister of Jamaica from March 2006 to September 2007 and again from 5 January 2012 to 3 March 2016.
