Heavy rains from TS Delta leaves many road impassable

Roadways island-wide have been flooded and or left impassable following heavy rains from the passage of Tropical Storm Delta.

Several videos have surfaced online showing roadways in the Corporate Area, namely Marcus Garvey Drive, which was completely flooded leaving several vehicles disabled on the thoroughfare.

In a clip, one man was seen attempting to push his vehicle through the knee high water, while passengers from a disabled public passenger bus stand on a median as they await rescue.

Communication manager for the National Works Agency Stephen Shaw shared that in addition to Marcus Garvey Drive several roadways including some in St Catherine, St Thomas and St Elizabeth were also blocked due to landslides that resulted from the heavy downpour.

Roadways that are blocked in Kingston and St Andrew include:
Papine to Gordon Town
Community of Mavis Bank (inaccessible)

Roadways that are blocked in St Thomas include:
Port Morant to Morant Bay
Pleasant Hill to Hectors River Bath to Hordley
Whalersfield to Cedar Grove
Seaforth to Trinityville (Coley)
Albion to Llandewey (Cod Pen Bridge)
