Jamaica again records double digit increase in COVID-19 cases

Speaking at a press briefing on Thursday(August 27) the Minister of Health and Wellness (MOHW) Christopher Tufton said that the country had recorded 66 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the island’s tally to 1,870.

While the death toll remains unchanged, the ministry revealed that another COVID-19 person had died.

According to the minister, one of the new cases arrived in the island on a flight from Nicaragua while the other 65 are currently under investigation.

The recovery rate has again dropped, now at 49 percent, with the ministry reporting that there are 933 active cases.
