Jamaica records 289 new COVID cases, 16 deaths

An additional sixteen persons have died from COVID-19 in Jamaica, according to the latest figures from the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

Thirteen of  the deaths were reported as individuals living in the Kingston and St Andrew area.

The casualties bring the overall coronavirus death toll in Jamaica to 586.

287 new COVID-19 infections were  reported over the  24-hour period bringing the tally to 38,514.

To date Jamaica has 20,334 active cases.
