Jamaica records 367 new COVID-19 infections, new vaccination milestone

Jamaica on Tuesday (August 24) recorded 367 new COVID-19 infections, according to data from the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW).

The MOHW, in its latest COVID-19 clinical summary, reported that most of the new cases were confirmed in the country’s most populous parish of Kingston and St Andrew, which saw an increase of 80 new infections.

In addition, 14 new deaths have been reported from August 21-23 pushing the country’s death toll to 1,431.

Since the start of the pandemic, Jamaica has recorded a total of 63,464  cases, with 13,820 active cases at present.

The MOHW in its update regarding inoculations said that the country had recorded a one day tally of 21,000 COVID-19 vaccinations, following its latest blitz session.
