Jamaica’s COVID-19 death toll continues to rise, tally now at 116

Jamaica’s COVID-19 death toll is now at 116 following the latest information from the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

This is in addition to  149 new cases of the virus, bringing the island’s total confirmed COVID-19 cases to 6,704.

The deaths were recorded among elderly individuals with St Catherine addresses and include two women ages 79 and 71; and three men, ages 76, 94 and 99.

Eleven other deaths, suspected to be COVID-19 related, are under investigation.

The majority of the newly confirmed cases were recorded in the parish of Kingston and St Andrew; with an 11-day-old baby among the new positives.
