Jamaica’s COVID-19 tally nears 12K, three more deaths reported

Three new COVID-19 deaths have been recorded in Jamaica, bringing the death toll to 279.

The deceased have been identified as a 48-year-old female from Westmoreland, a 77-year-old male from St. Ann and, a 73-year-old male from St. Mary.

The country now has a total of 11,968 cases of the virus, having recorded 61 new cases in the last 24-hours.

The largest number of new infections were reported in Westmoreland which recorded 18 new cases and Kingston and St. Andrew which recorded 16.

To date the country has over 3,000 active cases of the virus with 103 individuals in hospital and 3,2131 in home quarantine.
