Jamaica’s COVID-19 tally surpasses 1000

Jamaica recorded sixteen new cases of the coronavirus bringing the island’s tally to 1,003.

Nine of the new cases are described as imported with addresses in St James, Kingston and St Andrew, St Ann and St Mary.

Two of the latest cases are contacts of confirmed cases, one with a Clarendon address and the other a St James address. Five of the new cases are under investigation.

The recovery rate has declined to 74.3% with the country having recorded 745 recoveries.

Jamaica currently has 190 active COVID-19 cases.
