Jamaica’s COVID-19 tally surpasses 9K; death toll increases by 3

The Ministry of Health and Wellness on Friday (October 30) latest numbers revealed that Jamaica’s COVID-19 case count had increased by 78 new infections, bringing the island’s overall tally to 9,005.

The death toll also increased to 205, as the country recorded three new deaths, with one of the latest virus fatalities said to have been under investigation.

The bulk of the new infections were recorded in Kingston and St Andrew which saw un uptick of 29 new cases, bringing the overall numbers in the area to 3,179.

To date the country has tested less than 10 per cent of the population, with Jamaica reportedly having performed 95,083 test in total.

Jamaica has 4,237 active cases of COVID-19, with close to 20,000 people in self quarantine and 95 in hospital.
