JLP councillor dies after battling COVID-19 on intensive care unit

Condolences have began to pour in for a Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) councillor who died while on the intensive care unit after falling ill after testing positive for COVID-19.

Irvin Brown councillor for the Fellowship Division in East Portland died on Tuesday morning (October 20) after a three week battle with COVID-19. He was 61-years-old.

In a release sent out by the Member of Parliament for the area, Ann Marie Vaz, Brown was described as having given “sterling service” to the people of Fellowship and leaves behind a legacy of excellence and dedicated service.

Vaz shared that she was devastated when she learned of Brown’s passing noting that she “shared a close relationship and a deep love” for Brown.
