K.D. Knight backs Hanna in bid for PNP presidency

Veteran politician K.D. Knight, Q.C. on Thursday (October 22) endorsed Lisa Hanna in her bid to be the next President of the People’s National Party (PNP).

Knight urged delegates to vote for Hanna on November 7, 2020 at the special delegates conference.

According to the veteran politician,  he wholeheartedly endorsed Hanna as a leader for the times.

Knight  in describing his reason for supporting Hana cited her plan for the rebuilding and rebranding of the party published yesterday on her website as ” impressive”, noting that she possessed the required vision, skills and energy to implement it.

Knight, who served the House of Representatives for four terms as Member of Parliament for East Central St. Catherine and Senate for three terms, expressed confidence that Hanna would work in harmony with all levels of the party to bring about the necessary reforms and organisational restructuring to ensure that the PNP resumes its position as the premiere political organisation in Jamaica and the Party of choice for the majority of the Jamaican electorate.

“I urge that during the campaign, we all keep an eye on party unity and respect for all”, Knight said.

Knight, who is an Attorney at Law, said he was committed to playing his part in the rebuilding process and to ensure a successful tenure of office for the new party leader.

Hanna is going up against Member of Parliament for South St Andrew, Mark Golding, for the leadership of the 82-year old political organization
