Man gets stabbed after intervening in Montego Bay market fight

A man was stabbed as he attempted to part a fight that occurred  at the market in Montego Bay in the parish on Friday (February 12).

Reports from the Anchovy Police are that about 3:00 p.m., a farmer and a female vendor got into an argument during which,  the farmer armed himself with a knife and advanced to the woman.

A male vendor saw what was happening and intervened.

The farmer then used the knife to cut the man on the neck before stabbing him several times; he was later  handed over to the Police after he was accosted by citizens in the market.

The farmer has been identified as 45-year-old David Hibbert of White Hall in St. Elizabeth.

Hibbert was later charged on Monday (February 22). His court date is being finalized.
