A man has been taken into police custody in connection with the death of a Canadian national whose body was found a week earlier at a guesthouse in Runaway Bay, St Ann.
Reports are that Latoya Alcindor who arrived in Jamaica a week prior was found dead on Thursday (January 21 )
The St. Ann’s Bay Police were alerted to Alcindor’s body after other occupants of the apartment reportedly noticed an anomaly at her room and called the police.
On their arrival, the body was in a pool of blood with stab wounds.
Detectives say they have collected several statements and are in the final stages of preparing the case file; however, the suspect’s identity is being withheld.
