Mechanic nabbed after killing man and raping woman in Westmoreland

A mechanic in Westmoreland was arrested on Monday (July 5) after he gunned down a man at his home and raped the man’s girlfriend.

The man has been identified as 38-year-old Dwayne Raffington otherwise called ‘Ricky’ of Highgate district, Darliston in the parish.

Reports from the Whithorn Police are that about 2:10 a.m., 20-year-old Fitzroy Boothe of Bluefields district and a woman were at home when they heard sounds coming from the outside.

Boothe armed himself with a machete and went to the window where he was shot by Raffington.

Raffington then had sexual intercourse with the woman against her will. The Police were called and on their arrival, Boothe was seen with gunshot wounds to his upper body.

An investigation was launched and the police arrested of Raffington at his house a few hours later.

Raffington was charged with:
Murder
Rape
Abduction
Grievous Sexual Assault and
Burglary
