Nigerians busted with scores of bank cards at airport in Mobay

Two Nigerians were arrested at the Sangster International Airport on Wednesday (July 22).

Reports are that 34-year-old Folashade Bakare and 32-year-old Yusuf Abiodun Bakare, both of Lagos in Nigeria went to the airport’s cargo facility to pick up a parcel.

The package was searched by customs officers, who discovered that it contained bank cards.

When the African nationals could not satisfactorily account for the items, the police were called in.

A subsequent investigation was conducted at the home in which the duo reside locally, in the Bogue Heights, St James community, and devices reportedly containing identity information of persons residing overseas were seized. 

Detectives attached to the Area One Lottery Scamming Task Force have charged the two Nigerians for suspected breaches of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transactions) (Special Provisions) Act.

They are to appear in St James parish court on July 29 to answer to the charges.
