Nigerians to be deported after caught with scores of bank cards in St James

Two Nigerians are to be deported after they appeared in the St James parish court on Thursday (July 30)

The African nationals were arrested on July 22 when they went to collect a parcel from the Sangster International Airport, which contained scores of bank cards that they could not account for.

The Lottery Scam Task Force were called in and the Nigerians were charged under the Immigration Act as well as for breaches of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transactions) (Special Provisions).

During the investigation that followed, the foreigners, who were residing locally in Bogue Heights, St James, were found to be in possession of other items which contained identity information.

34-year-old Folashade Bakare and 32-year-old Yusuf Abiodun Bakare, both of Lagos in Nigeria first appeared in court on Wednesday(July 29).

The duo pleaded guilty for overstaying and were each fined $10,000 JMD.

When the duo appeared in court again on Thursday the parish judge ruled that they both be
deported.
