Party goers, promoter arrested following Independence Day session

Reports are that forty-one persons, including a party promoter, were charged for breaches of the Disaster Risk Management Act (DRMA) after they attended an Independence Day bash in St Catherine.

The arrests came just hours after the Prime Minister Andrew Holness held a press brief in which he noted that stricter penalties were coming  for those who flout regulations under DRMA.

Reports are that between 12:15 a.m. and 1:40 a.m., patrons were seen at a party and warned however, they did not comply.

They were subsequently arrested and charged and are scheduled to appear before the St Catherine Parish Court on October 23.
