Police make another drug bust at Kingston airport thanks to canine team

The Canine team is again being lauded as a member of the team led police to find a quantity of cocaine on Wednesday  (June 24) at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA).

This is the third time in less than two weeks that the canines in the unit have helped police seize drugs at the airport.

Reports are that about 3:45 p.m., a team from the division was conducting routine checks at the airport when detection dog ‘Wray’ alerted them to a package.

The package  was searched and the illicit drug was found

No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.

Previously on June 16, the same detection dog assisted police in seizing $600,000 worth of cocaine at the NIMA.
