A policeman was gunned down late Tuesday(March 30) in Portmore, St Catherine
Dead is 36-year-old constable J. Bennett attached to Kingston West police.
Reports are that around 10:00 p.m. Bennett had gone to to visit his five weeks old baby when gunmen pounced upon him and shot him.
He received multiple gunshot injuries to the head and upper body where he died on the spot .
The assailants are said to have escaped on foot in the area.
