Sights from around Jamaica as Tropical Storm Elsa batters the island

Despite Hurricane Elsa falling back into the tropical storm category, the weather system continues to bear down on Jamaica bringing with it heavy showers.

The Met Service in its latest report on Sunday (July 4) said that Jamaica remains under a tropical storm warning.

According to its 10:00 a.m. update, The Met Service said that the centre of Tropical Storm Elsa was located north-northwest of Port Antonio with the system moving towards the west-northwest near 20 km/h (13 mph).

Tropical Storm Elsa is forecasted to continue moving from near Jamaica to parts of eastern Cuba later today and is expected to approach central Cuba tonight.

It is anticipated that Tropical Strom Elsa will strengthen as it approaches the south-central coast of Cuba; however, gradual weakening is forecasted to occur on Monday.

The Den is sharing photos and videos taken from various parts of the island that showcase Elsa’s impact, check them out below.
