St. Ann fisherman arrested after residents stumble upon body in community

A St Ann fisherman was arrested in connection with a June 16 incident in which residents stumbled upon a body in the Steer Town community.

Reports from the St. Ann’s Bay Police are that at about 9:30 p.m. on June 16, residents stumbled upon the body of 61-year-old Everton Hamilton of a Steer Town address.

Residents alerted the police to the discovery.

On the arrival of the police reported that the 61-year-old’s body was seen in a ditch burnt with gunshot and chop wounds.

An intense investigation was launched and 34-year-old fisherman Marvin Demetrious was arrested and interviewed in the presence of his attorney.

Demetrious who is more popularly known as “Jukie” was subsequently charged.
