It appears that most Jamaicans are sitting this election out, with the latest numbers out of the Electoral Commission of Jamaica (ECJ) showing that so far only 30 percent of voters have participated in the process.
According to the ECJ, as of 2:00p.m. a total of 30.67 per cent of eligible electors had voted.
The percentage given is based on reports coming in from 89 per cent of the polling stations across the island.
There are 1,913,410 electors on the Voters’ List.
