Westmoreland lifeguard arrested for firing shots after money demands not met

A lifeguard of Hertford district, Petersfield in Westmoreland was arrested and charged following an incident in his community on Wednesday (November 28).

Reports from the Whitehorn Police are that about 9:00 p.m., the accused,24-year-old Lamar Campbell, approached the complainant who was sitting along the roadway and demanded money.

When his demands were not met, Campbell allegedly broke a bottle and used it to cut the complainant on his wrist.

The accused then left and returned with a firearm and fired several shots in the air. The incident was reported to Police and the accused was subsequently apprehended.

Campbell was charged on November 30 following a question and answer interview.

Campbell, otherwise called ‘Popeye’, was charged for Unlawful Wounding, Discharging a Firearm Within 40 Yards of a Public Thoroughfare and Illegal Possession of a Firearm.
