Woman alarmed as health data breached to solicit date, ministry probing

A woman took to Twitter on Monday (August 9) to bring to the attention of Health Minister, Christopher Tufton, a potential data breach.

In the tweet, the woman shared that an agent attached to the ministry had used information available in her quarantine order to flirt with her via WhatsApp.

“People….. someone from @themohwgovjm has my personal information via my quarantine order and is contacting me via WhatsApp trying to get to know me,” tweeted the clearly concerned woman.

According to the woman, the presumed male agent had Personally Identifiable Information (PII) about her including her ” home address”.

The woman also shared screenshots of the text she received from the employee, tagging the minister and the ministry as she sought to enquiry whether this was acceptable behaviour.

In a follow-up tweet, the woman shared that Minister Tufton had been in contact with her and was “handling the situation”.
